Moving Forward . . .
 
GetMoreLocal is working to lessen the pressure on North London's overstretched public transport system by providing a greener alternative to the current, oil-dependent services.

Local Motion is a solar-powered water-bus service that will give commuters and all residents and visitors to London, the space - and fresh air - to breathe. The Local Motion vessels will be powered by solar energy: clean, renewable, silent and beautiful.   As well as commuter short hops, Local Motion will also offer a small delivery service, helping further to reduce carbon emissions in the Capital.
 
Local Motion will provide a scenic, leisurely and more pleasant way of travelling through the city.  Our service is for everyone: commuters, students, tourists, the elderly and disabled, cyclists and parents with baby buggies.
 
The service will also bring economic benefits to London. New training and employment opportunities will become available to unemployed young people living in Camden, Islington and the Olympic boroughs, providing skills and experience from which local, lasting employment can be attained. Cultural community events, and markets for locally sourced products, will be held along the water-bus route, generating interest - and stimulating economic growth - in the area.
 
Operating from King's Cross to Lime House Basin on the Regent's Canal, Local Motion will provide a much-needed, direct connection between east and west. The canal provides a ready solution to the cross-London transport problem without the need for costly, disruptive redevelopment; the set-up already exists, so why not use it?
